The TurnAround Team, Inc. Board Meeting
11 January 2007
Deb Swank, Chair, called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Attending: Rob Banks, Tom Ellis, Karen Hiller, Alex Kovalchuk, Barbara Leal, Robbie
McDowell, Roy O’Neil, Duane Pomeroy, Don Rice, Delores Smith, Deb Swank, and
Don Taylor.  
Introductions
Attendees introduced themselves for the new members.

Financial Report
Rob presented the November financial report. The total balance is $50,579.42.
The unpledged assets are $790.22 which represents the working bank account
balance.

Committee Reports
  • Washburn-Lane Parkway – Delores reported on what she found out about
    the College Hill flags, they are from Guard Sales on S Kansas. Southwind is
    apparently not aware of the original W-L plan showing monuments.
    According to Delores, they are not planning on 5’ sidewalks which is a part
    of the W-L Master Plan. It will be looked into. A suggestion to check with
    Signs To Go about banners.
  • Aaron Douglas Art Fair – The date is set for next year. Meeting at Barbara
    Leal’s house on the 27th at 10 AM.
  • Code Enforcement – It will be the program for the January general
    meeting. Code Compliance is being reorganized.
  • Public Art – Nothing to report at this time. Work on the mural project in
    Chesney Park is proceeding.
  • Web Site – Alex ran through some of the information on the site. There is
    an area where full information for the Board members will be posted.
  • Bylaws – The committee will start a review of both the Articles and Bylaws.

  • April – Recognitions
  • May – National Restoration Month program by the Library is already
    planned for the 21st.
  • June – Gardening
  • July – Neighborhoods Picnic

  • October – Recognitions
  • November – Annual Meeting / Elections
  • December – No meeting

Announcements
TAT could be a mini-grantee for Weed & Seed funding for informational
programs. Central Park and Chesney Park are Weed & Seed target areas.

College Hill Chili Cook-off is the 27th 5 – 7 PM.

Old Town NIA new president is Peter Hancock.

Tennessee Town NIA elections have been postponed.

HCCI will have four Home buyer 101 classes this year. TOTO Home buyer classes
are on Saturdays and TOTO is going strong.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM.

People who are interested in improving the quality and image of Central
Topeka, particularly people who live in or own property in the Central
Topeka area from Monroe to MacVicar and 21st to the Kansas River, are
