The TurnAround Team, Inc. Board Meeting
8 March 2007
Deb Swank called the meeting to order at 7 PM.

Present were: Mary Anne Blossom; Tom Ellis; Sue Fackler; Karen Hiller; Jeff Hunt;
Alex Kovalchuk; Barbara Leal; Roy O’Neil; Don Rice; Delores Smith; Deb Swank; and
Don Taylor.
1 – Aaron Douglas Art Fair
Cox Communications will donate $1,000.

2 – Washburn-Lane Parkway
Jeff Hunt reported on the work.  Banners are an issue now for some.  Carlos
Salazar has the mounting brackets for the light poles.  Banner size is spec’d at
18” x 24”.  Carlos is in the street department.  Mark will be the engineer on
Phase IV.  Poles in the College Hill Redevelopment area will be moved because of
the cutback parking.  Sidewalks will be 5’ wide.  The medians will all be taken
out for the dogleg work.  The median on Washburn from 17th to Byron will stay.
There will be work done on a water line near the point.  Linda Voss coordinates
stuff in the street ROW.  Get with Bill Newsome about any “monument” plans.
McPherson Contracting removed all of the old brick sidewalks and is holding it.
DTI maintains all of the banners downtown… will the City maintain the
banners?  Need to get costs and look at spacing issues and investigate what
legal issues there are.  The north end will likely be a little different to maybe try
to tie into a design scheme like the Chandler Pavilion design.  Don needs to get
with Mark to get an estimate for Phase IV and check with KDOT on the TE
schedule.

3 – General Meeting
People need to get with Rob about any questions for the candidate forum.

4 – Announcements
Roy passed around pictures of the design for the mural panels honoring Grant
Cushinberry.

Meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM.
