The TurnAround Team, Inc. Board Meeting
12 April 2007
Deb Swank called the meeting to order at 7 PM.  

Present were: Mary Anne Blossom; Karen Hiller; Alex Kovalchuk; David Morgan; Roy
O’Neil; Don Rice; Delores Smith; Deb Swank; and Don Taylor.
Deb Swank announced that she will step down as chair since she is
now going to be on the City Council.

1 – We will work on getting TAT information out to other locations.

2 – Recognitions
Don will take over recognitions for the April meeting.  Delores will
help.  Mary Ann will send out invitations.  Roy will get pictures.  Alex
will work on the presentation.

3 – Chair
Karen moved that Rob Banks be chair until a successor is elected and
qualified.  Alex seconded.  Motion passed without opposition.

4 – Administrative
We need to get name changes on the paperwork and accounts: Topeka
community Foundation and Commerce checking.  Delores moved to
add don to the signatures.  Roy seconded.  Motion passed without
opposition.

5 – Washburn-Lane Parkway
Don reported on the TE application timeline.  We need to start with
Jeff hunt and engineering to get current cost estimates.  CIP funding
request may need to move back to 2009.

6 – Menninger Property
There is a group working to preserve the Menninger property clock
tower building and they want support from TAT.  The building is on
the national historic register.  Christy Davis is the contact.  Alex asked
for TAT support for the “Tower Coalition”.

7 – Aaron Douglas Art Fair
Applications will be up on the website effective 1 April 2007.  Deadline
for submittals is 25 July 2007.  Karen has applied to the Topeka
Community Foundation for funding of an Arts connect bus trip to
Lawrence for the Aaron Douglas exhibition.  Delores moved to have
TAT act as the fiscal agent.  Don seconded.  Motion passed without
opposition.

8 – Great Mural Wall
The project is delayed due to weather.  The background is up on two
panels.  David Lowenstein is working on the next panel with
neighborhood input.  He would like to see other neighborhoods offer
ideas for panels.

9 – HND SORT
Central Park is the target area: Lincoln to Western and 15th to 17th.  
A supplemental area around Robinson Middle School might be added.

10 – Announcements
Third Saturday pancake feed at Central Park community Center is
coming up.
College Hill Blossoms are on 5 May 2007 at Boswell Square Park.
