The TurnAround Team, Inc. Board Meeting 10 Jan 2008

Rob Banks called the meeting to order at 7 PM.
Present were: Rob Banks; Mary Blossom; Tom Ellis; Karen Hiller; Alex Kovalchuk;
Don Rice; Delores Smith; and Don Taylor.
1 – Don Rice reviewed the financial report.
Total assets are $50,778.86 of which $303.74 are unpledged.
2 – Discussion of meetings.
The General Meeting on 28 January was discussed. Janet Zoeble will revisit the
idea of signage for the north and south ends of the Washburn-Lane Parkway.
Roger Viola will lead a discussion of the Visioning Process for Topeka. The
February meeting will feature WU Law students and help / discussions of By-
Laws. The March meeting will be a neighborhood potluck dinner. Location
possibilities were discussed and there will be no formal program. The April
meeting will be the spring recognitions… get suggestions to Don Taylor as soon
as possible.
3 – The Aaron Douglas Art Fair
Committee meets the 2nd Saturday each month at Barb Leal’s. Artists are
already asking about 2008 entries, but space is becoming limited at the park.
Discussion of the date for 2008. There is $262 of seed money for the 2008 event.
4 – Don Taylor reported on what happened relative to the TE funding
application cycle for this year.
There is $100,000 in the CIP for potential funding. Don will get with Jeff Hunt
for a revisit of the cost estimate. HND will be approached about helping with
match money. The 5th & Washburn island might be possible as well.
5 – There is a Planning commission meeting on the 23rd about College Hill
Redevelopment.
6 – Announcements
College Hill Chili Feed is the 26th at University United Methodist Church.
Old Town NIA is working on 501(c)3 status.
Central Park NIA is working on a Neighborhood Plan.
Tennessee Town NIA is disbanding effective 31 January.
