Duane Pomeroy called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.
Present were: Rogers Brazier; Sally Kahle; Alex Kovalchuk; Duane Pomeroy; Roy O’
Neil; Delores Smith; Don Taylor; and Linda Woolf.
1 – Linda gave the financial report and details to date for the Aaron Douglas
Art Fair. Motion to accept financial reports passed unopposed. Don will
look for the various W-L Parkway Pledge Forms.
2 – Aaron Douglas Art Fair committee will meet June 13th at 10 AM. The
artwork on the poster is by Roy O’Neil’s daughter-in-law. The Resolution of
Understanding is tabled indefinitely.
3 – Other Committee Reports
Rogers reported that Tennessee Town NIA is trying to get two empowerment
grants: one for rehab of the Lane Garden park area and one for sidewalks on
the east and north side of the Aaron Douglas Art Park. Motion to have Duane
provide a letter of support to TTNIA for the applications passed unopposed.
Sally reported that the W-L Parkway Lighting work is discovering interesting
facts The property north of the Potwin shops is owned by the City. Potwin
Presbyterian Church may close in a year or two.
4 – Duane reported that the roundabout at 17th & MacVicar was voted down
and that the trash-cans-in-alley issue was withdrawn.
5 – The June 22nd General Meeting is the report on Heartland Visioning.
6 – Sally reported on the action by the legislature to cap the historic tax
credits. At least $5,000 of work must be done in order to get a 15% tax
credit effective June 15th.
The College Hill garage sale is this weekend.
Roy O’Neil shared pictures of the great mural wall.
The July general meeting is the July 27th at 6:30 pm and will be the pool
party.
