The TurnAround Team, Inc. Board Meeting – 12 January 2012 Duane Pomeroy, Chair, called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM. Attending: Frank Hogue, Alex Kovalchuk, Frank Meadows, Duane Pomeroy, and Don Taylor. 1. There was no information for a financial report. 2. Aaron Douglas Art Park Duane led a discussion of some ongoing issues. At the first of the year, the City transferred parks to the County. Karen Hiller indicated to Duane that there is a contract for maintenance of the Aaron Douglas Celebration Mural wall. The back side of the wall was ‘tagged’ Christmas eve. It appears that there may be some cracks developing in the wall mortar joints. Don will look for a contract in the TAT papers. 3. Harvesters Duane reported that it was a big distribution in January. Apparently, the other distributions have suspended for the winter. Frank Hogue reported the he and Tom Benaka picked a lot of food to distribute to a number families who are homebound and unable to participate directly. There may be a February distribution, weather permitting. 4. Heartland Visioning Frank Hogue reported on the Heartland Visioning Strategic Plan and passed out copies. Since the Strategic Plan was adopted in November 2008 it has been followed pretty closely. A key issue is getting neighborhoods more actively involved in the issues identified. For example ‘run down’ houses and the turn around by Code Compliance versus the legal ‘takings’ issue. Responsiveness of Community Action to neighbor inquiries and applications for assistance is a major concern. Frank challenged the TAT Board to be more involved in the neighborhoods. 5. Annual Meeting / General Meeting Meeting is the 23rd. Don will call Stephanie about refreshments. Bylaws will be on the agenda. Duane will also contact Chad Manspeaker. The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM. Don Taylor Secretary
