| Duane Pomeroy called the meeting to order at 7 PM. Present were 18 people. |
1 – Duane introduced Ann Newell, Linda Woolf, and Clark Duffy as new
members of the Board.
2 – Owen Kennedy was in the audience and is running against Vic Miller for
County Commission. The July program will be a town hall meeting with the
Commission candidates.
3 – Karen Hiller talked briefly about the public art stuff going on in town. There
is a $10,000 limit on grant money we can get so other opportunities for public
art activities are being explored. Karen introduced Heidi Zeller of Groundswell
in Lawrence which is a Cultural Planning consultancy. The object is to use
public art as a catalyst. Heidi facilitated a discussion of what kinds of projects
would have public interest. The planning process is expected to run August 1 to
November 1.
