| Duane Pomeroy called the meeting to order at 7 PM. 30 people in attendance. |
The program was the County Commission Candidates: Michells Brokaw; Tom
Laing representing Vic Miller; and Owen Kennedy. In a Town Hall setting all
the candidates had an opening remark then answered questions from the
audience. The questions covered such areas as: Consolidation; How the
candidates would characterize County Commission meetings; Use of county tax
dollars in Topeka; Annexation; Joint planning; JEDO; Flat tax for joint services;
Hiring a professional manager for the County; What would you pick as a “do
over”; and Ethics rules.
