General Meeting A
ugust 2008
Duane Pomeroy called the meeting to order at 7 PM.

22 people in attendance.
The City budget meeting is on the agenda tomorrow.  The parking lot at 16th
& Lane will be on the agenda.  Deb Swank spoke later about the private /
public joint venture.  $291,000 was committed in the CIP.  Motion to
authorize Duane to speak on behalf of TAT in favor of the parking passed
without opposition.

Heidi Zeller and David Loewenstein talked about the entire process of
cultural planning in central Topeka.  They gave an overview of the entire
cultural planning process and are currently working on a master plan.  The
current list of priority items is: Aaron Douglas Art Park; Great Mural Wall;
and Washburn-Lane Parkway.  America’s non-profit arts and culture industry
generates $66.2 billion in economic activity every year.

August 30-31 is the next painting weekend on the mural wall.  Dedication is
planned for September 27th.
