General Meeting November 2008
Duane Pomeroy called the meeting to order at 7 PM.

11 people in attendance.  
Shiara Rose, Williams Magnet School, gave a presentation on the mural project
at 10th & Kansas Avenue.  She explained how the entire design and painting
was done by students.  “Topeka In The Future” was theme.  The students
determined the criteria for a student to be able to work on painting the mural.  
Start to finish was one month.  The building is owned by Pantaleon Florez
(attorney whose office is next door) and he would like to have the mural redone
every two years.  [recognition in April]

The November is also the annual meeting and time for elections of the Board.  
Don Taylor moved to accept the slate.  Alex Kovalchuk seconded.  Motion passed
unopposed.  Duane Pomeroy continues as chair.  Don Rice continues as
treasurer.  Don Taylor continues as secretary.  A discussion about looking
exactly at how elections are to be done.

People in the College Hill Redevelopment Project want representation on
TAT.  Discussion of how that will work with Central Park NIA.  Could it affect
Central Park’s status based on income issues?

The December Board meeting is the 11th and will focus on the 2009 programs.  
There is no December general meeting.

Announcements
Delores Smith moved and Alex Kovalchuk seconded to work on an application to
become a Heartland Visioning Partner.  Motion passed unopposed.

Heidi’s final report should be done as of the end of November.  There will be a
capsule presentation at the December Board meeting.

The Aaron Douglas Art Fair will be September 26, 2009, from 11 AM to 5 PM.

A general discussion of upcoming City Council elections.
