The TurnAround Team, Inc. General Meeting – 28 November 2011 Duane Pomeroy, Chair, called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. Present were five people. Delores reported on the slate of officers she is working on. She would like to ask Frank Meadows to take over as treasurer; she is concerned about the time constraints with Stephanie. Delores reported on insurance. The original $1 million policy had a premium of $1020 and is the current umbrella policy. A $3 million policy to meet the requirements of Dillons will cost $2400. Discussion of insurance will be on the December Board agenda. Discussion of logistics of moving the Aaron Douglas Art Fair to the Expocentre grounds across from the Great Mural Wall. This will also involve another round of discussion of the insurance issue. The Harvesters food distribution will occur in December but not in January of February. Discussion of the CDs. Earnings on the existing CDs were: $3000 earned $50.88; $15000 earned $262.86; and $5000 earnings will post at the end of December. Renewal rates are only about 0.3 percent apr. Elections will be held in January after the NIAs elect their new officers. Clara moved to have elections at the January meeting; Alex seconded; motion passed unopposed. Discussion of 2012 meetings: January – Annual meeting / elections; February – Public Works infrastructure update; March – Heartland Visioning update?; April – open; May – Library / Historic Preservation; June – Pot Luck with neighborhood leaders; July – Shawnee County candidate forum if there is a primary otherwise no meeting; August – open; September – ADAF / no meeting; October – Shawnee County candidate forum for the General Election; November – open; December – no meeting. Bring ideas to the December Board meeting for the rest of the dates. Topics discussed included an open meeting for idea exchange among neighborhood leaders and a Fiber Arts District update. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM. Afterwards Duane led a tour of THS. Don Taylor Secretary
